ABOUT IDDRAP

Initiative for Drug Demand Reduction and Abuse Prevention (IDDRAP) is a registered non-profit NGO with the purpose of preventing and stopping drug use by educating users and non-users upon the harmful effects that drugs can cause on the body, mind and personality, and by finding and directing existing users to rehabilitation drug-free programs especially among the youths in both rural and urban communities in Nigeria. We believe that working for a drug-free World will promote peace and human development and dignity, democracy, tolerance, equality, freedom and justice. We share a common concern that illicit drug use is undercutting traditional values and threatening the existence of stable families, communities and government institutions in Nigeria and around the world.

IDDRAP awareness campaign creation started in 2012 by reaching to primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary institutions, NDLEA NYSC Drug-Free Club CDS groups, NYSC camps, corporate organisations, government agencies, prisons, churches, mosques, teen camps, youth fellowship meetings, community town hall meetings through preventive education, community intervention, advocacy, counselling, mentoring, volunteering, sports, entertainment, skills training, conferences, seminars, workshops, inter-cultural and educational exchange programs.

IDDRAP is legally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja with CAC/IT/NO 89873. We are registered with the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and we are accredited NGO with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). We are also certified member of World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD) which headquarters is in Stockholm, Sweden.

We use the state-of-the-art educative tool during our campaign and these materials provides facts the people need to make informed decision to never take drugs in the first place and live a drug-free life.
